Angeles City to purchase COVID-19 vaccines

LGUs should anticipate for the coming of the COVID-19 vaccine by creating means where citizens can easily access the vaccine.

The city government of Angeles is planning to raise PhP75 million to be able to buy doses of COVID-19 vaccine and immunize priority sectors.

Initially, the city has allotted PhP25 million for the procurement of vaccines for medical frontline workers and those belonging to the marginalized sectors.

However, the city government wants to extend the provision of the vaccine to all Angeleños. They sought the help of the Department of Health (DOH) in the procurement of additional vaccines, as well its distribution in the community.

The city is exhausting all means to ensure that all Angeleños, especially members of the vulnerable sector, will receive free vaccine against the virus.

If its request for assistance will be approved, the city government said it will be able to utilize PhP75 million to ensure that more members in the community will receive protection from COVID-19, as part of its prevention efforts.
