A new Omicron-specific COVID-19 vaccine may become available to the country by early 2023.
Overview
The first generation COVID-19 vaccine is still effective against the disease, but the Omicron-specific vaccine will boost our protection against the COVID-19 variants, according to the Department of Health. For a manufacturer to circulate its vaccine, it must have a CPR or certificate of product registration. One manufacturer has already passed theirs, and DOH is hopeful the CPR will be given by early 2023.
