Cagayan Valley Rice Farmers Post Higher Earnings

Farmers are slowly recovering from their losses brought by the rice tariffication law (RTL) that opens the local market to more rice imports. The cooperative’s operation continues with more than 8,000 members through online transactions in order to comply with the protocols during the Luzon-wide ECQ. The Nagkakaisang Magsasaka Isabelino Super Cooperative was established as a project of the Isabela provincial government. Members are farmers from all of the towns in the province whose goal is to combat economic hardship and to collectively request assistance from the government.
