COVID-19 State of Calamity Possible Extension

DOH urges Marcos to extend COVID-19 calamity response

With Filipinos learning to live in the new normal, many may question the need for a state of calamity. However, the state of calamity status allows the government to do the following:

  • Ease of the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccine programs
  • Control of basic goods
  • Quick use of emergency funds

Only half of the Philippines population aged 12 and above are vaccinated, something the public should be cautious about.
