COVID-19 vaccine jabs for PDLs

LGUs can prioritize vulnerable groups such as PDLs for their vaccine rollout programs.

At least 747 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Navotas City Jail received their first dose of Sputnik vaccine.

The City Government of Navotas conducted the inoculation of PDLs to prevent COVID-19 spread within their enclosed space.

PDLs are at high risk of contracting COVID-19 due to limited spaces in the city jail. Through vaccination, the LGU hopes to ensure the health and wellness of inmates and eliminate the risk of the facility turning into a COVID hotspot.

The city also allotted 101 doses of Sputnik to Navoteña PDLs at Malabon City Jail-Female Dormitory.

Earlier, 500 fish workers at Navotas Fish Port Complex received their first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine through the city’s night vaccination.
