Free and Accessible Medicines for Seniors

LGUs can also create mobile pharmacies to help decrease the number of people going outside, and to aid the sick people in getting the medicines they need.

The first of its kind in the country since the imposition of the Luzon ECQ, Calapan launched the service to give free maintenance medicines for diabetes and hypertension to senior citizens in every barangay in the city.

The project aims to reach out to the elderly who are not allowed to leave their homes as they are more vulnerable to COVID-19.

The drugstore on wheels is manned by a pharmacist with assistance from the Mobile Botika staff.
