Livelihood Opportunity Amid COVID-19

LGUs can collaborate with different organizations to establish alternative livelihood opportunities.

The City of Biñan in the Province of Laguna seized this opportunity to provide livelihood to their people as well as to supply for the front liners. Started as souvenir items for 2020 Women’s Month Celebration, Face Mask Project was initiated by Gender and Development (GAD) Office through Biñan Garments and Training Center. They were able to produce and distribute 5,000 reusable face masks in March. Afterwards, the City discovered facemaskmaking as an income opportunity for the community during the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
