Returning to More In-Person Classes This 2023

Read about hybrid learning in the Philippines, starting from the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023.

Elementary and high school students are slowly returning to “normal” after more than two years of online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is essential information you need to know about the transition.

1. Department of Education (DepEd) Order 34, s. 2022

Based on the school calendar and activities of the school year 2022-2023, the department is committed to resuming 5 days of in-person classes despite the on-going health crisis.

2. Current School Compliance

Almost 90% of the country's 60,000 public and private schools had already started transitioning to in-person classes for the school year 2022-2023.

3. Exemptions from the Transition

Exemptions are still provided to schools whose classes are automatically canceled due to disasters and calamities, and those that are implementing alternative delivery modes.
