Community Response

TV Eskwela

LGUs can also partner with the Department of Education in launching educational programs on their community cable channel.

DepEd Kabankalan City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kabankalan Community Antenna Television (K-CAT), Inc. for "TV Eskwela."

The community cable company will provide 6 hours every day for DepEd to air lessons.

The City Government of Kabankalan supported the partnership by requiring all Barangay Captains to apply for cable subscription to be funded by the City Government.

The cable subscription will enable the Barangays to show TV Eskwela in public spaces to provide access to learners with no access to cable television.

Guidelines for social distancing and scheduling of the lessons will be drafted.

Kabankalan City Government also allocated 4.5M for DepEd for vitamins that will be distributed to the 56,946 learners from Elementary to College. Funding will also support the security and health of the City’s 2,817 teaching and non-teaching personnel both in public and private schools.
