Butig is one of the poorest municipalities in Lanao del Sur, having been a hotbed of violent conflicts.
The LGU made use of the municipality's farmlands to improve its agricultural techniques and help farmers with their livelihood.
The LGU was able to give assistance to around 4,000 farmers, including rice, coffee, and bamboo growers.

Along with the livelihood program, the LGU trained its beneficiaries on entrepreneur skills and financial management.

The LGU was able to help 15 municipal staff, 30 rice farmers, 15 coffee farmers, 30 bamboo growers, 30 women, and 30 youth.
