The Maluso LGU launched a framework with the goal of promoting diversity and inclusivity, respecting citizen rights, strengthening the economy, and mobilizing citizens to participate in the community.
The LGU was able to mobilize representatives from schools, civil society organizations, churches, indigenous communities, and law enforcement. They also encouraged individuals to put up businesses, consequently boosting the local economy.
Guideline 1: Use an existing effective model to ensure achievement of goals.
The LGU used the KALASAHANS Model as basis for the project, which is a framework for implementing public services effectively at the local level.
Guideline 2: Assign sub-committees to oversee specific goals.
The LGU initiated a Culture for Peace Commission, a Local Economic Development Council, and two additional bodies to concentrate on specific goals.
