Tuburan is a coastal municipality located in the island province of Basilan, Philippines, covering an area of 546.00 square kilometers. As of the 2020 Census, Tuburan is home to an approximate population of 24,742 residents divided into 10 barangays, contributing to the tight-knit community that thrives amidst the tranquil countryside ambiance.

Fellows' Journey

With education as one of its priority programs, the Municipality of Tuburan initiated the Aku Scholar Tuburan Program, which provides tertiary education scholarship grants to deserving students from the poorest of the poorest sectors. An ordinance institutionalizing the scholarship program was passed, which guarantees the implementation of the program aiding incoming college students with a maximum financial grant of Php10,000 per school year. The Ordinance also secures a yearly budget for the program starting in 2023.
